VALENTINE'S, GIRLS DAY!

Valentine’s day, the day that mainly girls are looking forward too as soon as February is in sight. For some lucky ladies they are already in a relationship and have the whole day planned and other girls are just wondering what is waiting for them on the 14th, only to find that the day has passed by just like any other day.
This year I’ve got all of you lovely ladies covered! Why wait for a men on a white horse to come and take you on a date? While you and your girlfriends can make it in to a girls day instead. It is the perfect excuse to dress up either in pink or red (or as girly as you want) to feel your prettiest.
After all, girls just wanna have fun!

So I came up with some easy ways to make some delicious treats and cute decorations for your girls day.

Coconut Macrons
Easiest treats ever! You only need two ingredients
-          Coconut flakes
-          Condensed milk

Preparation:
For these easy and delicious Coconut Macrons you need 150grams of coconut flakes and 150grams of condensed milk. Stir them together in a bowl. Next use an ice cream scoop or if you do not have one by hand, use a spoon to scoop any amount and roll it in whatever size of macron you want it to be. For the smaller macrons you only need to put them in the oven for 6min. If they are bigger, then let them bake for more or less 10 minutes at 180˚C(350 ˚F). Stay close to see when the macron changes in to a light brown color, then they are ready! Take them out let them cool down and enjoy!

Oreo Cheese Cake
One of my most loved recipe that I have gotten from a friend some time ago. If you are an Oreo lover, you will LOVE this Oreo Cheese Cake!

You’ll need:
22 Oreo’s
3-4 spoon of melted butter
2 ½ pack of Philadelphia cream cheese
1 cup of sugar
2 ½ spoon of flower
2 tea spoon of vanilla extract
¼ cup of milk
3 eggs
8 extra oreo to throw in the mix

Oreo cheese cake preparation:

Bottom crust:
Crumble the 22 Oreo’s thinly using a food processor or a mixing blender. Put in the melted butter and mix well with the Oreo crumble. Rub in on the baking pan with some butter. Press the mix of Oreo crumbles and the butter on the bottom of the baking pan evenly. Place the baking pan in a pre-heated oven for 10 min at 180˚C(350 ˚F).
Cheese cake:
Put the cream cheese in a bowl together with sugar, flower, vanilla extract and milk. Mix together with a mixer. While mixing the ingredients put one egg at the time in the mixture. Break around 8 Oreo’s and throw the crumbs in this mixture. Then gently pour the mixture in the baking pan on the Oreo crust. Put it in the oven and let it bake for ± 1 hour at 160 ˚C(325˚F).
The top of the cheese cake will turn brown, with a toothpick prick in the cheese cake, if there is no residue on the toothpick then your Oreo cheese cake is done!

Chocolate covered strawberry
An other easy pastry to make is the chocolate covered strawberry. You just need chocolate bar (I usually use dark or extra dark chocolate). Melt it either in the microwave or in a pan over the stove. Dip your strawberries in the melted chocolate and put them on a plate and place them in the fridge. When you are ready to eat it, take it out of the fridge and enjoy!

Now these pretty pompoms are also pretty easy to make.
What you need is:
  • Colorful tissue or crepe paper
  • Scissors
  • String
Now you need to layer 6 to 10 sheets of 50cm by 28cm (20” by 11”) of either tissue or crepe paper. Make 1 1/2-inchwide accordion folds, creasing with each fold.
Then tie a piece of string in the middle of the bundle.
With a scissor trim both ends in to which ever shape you want either a half circle or in to a point. Then fan out the folds and gently pull each sheet forward until you meet the center. Then do the same on the other side. And then you have your self a cute pompom. If you want smaller pompoms just cut out the cm/inches out of the sheets.

Then set your table with all the treats that you have made, play around with the pompoms to arrange the perfect setting for everything, and your table is done! Oh I almost forgot! Don’t forget your pink drinks!

I hope that I have inspired you lovely ladies out there to make this years valentines day a fun one! Remember you will find your perfect match when the time is right!
xoxo Christen
