BAN BIBA NOS KULTURA | LET'S LIVE OUR CULTURE

The 30th of April is one if not the biggest event day on the Island of Bonaire, it's all about the famous event called dia di Rincon (the day of Rincon). Dia di Rincon is a annual cultural celebration which is held in the oldest town of Bonaire, Rincon. All the inhabitants of Bonaire and of course the neighbor Islands are seeking to once again experience this event.

While walking down the streets of Rincon, you will be swapped away by the smell of our traditional kriyoyo(local) food and indulge your sweet tooth with our signature treats. Your ears will be spoiled with the magical sounds of our past meets the present and your eyes will be treated with colorful cultural outfits. At sunset we will dance our Simadan till our feets can't handle anymore movement and sing our lungs out till we lose our voices. 

Collecting memories and historical passage, dia di Rincon is a tradition to never let die. It is one of the few things that we can truly be proud of. After all that's all we have, our culture and history. "Ban biba nos kultura"(Let's live our culture).

For this event I wanted to wear something modern meets cultural. So I paired my stripped culotte with a yellow top and finished the look of with my favorite scarf as a head accessory.
